ABOUT BIRDPHOBIA
‘Some people are like pigeons, others are like statues. It makes no difference whether you are the Statue of Liberty or one of the Caryatids. It doesn’t matter whether you are a Rodin or Botero. Pigeons will sooner or later poo on you. Oh, yes, on you! And not just once!’
Vertebra Theatre Company returns to The Space Theatre with a new surreal play (World premiere).
Birdphobia is a bitter-sweet story about mother-daughter relationship. A non-ordinary modern family with a control freak mother, obsessed with statues and pigeons, a homeless father, ex-hunter and an artist daughter, try to explore family dynamics. Some of them are free like birds and others static as statues. But in Birdphobia’s absurd world the statues can walk and the birds don’t know how to fly.
