“After seeing this show highlighted as one to watch at the Camden Fringe on View website, I decided to go along to ‘Is Monoagamy Dead?’. I couldn’t be more glad I did.
From the moment Rosie started the show, cracking a joke about showbiz dreams being shattered by providing her own introduction to the stage from behind a curtain, the laughs came freely. Rosie’s self-deprecating, dry and sometimes surreal humour (I refer here to fairy shoes and Ed Millipede – themes that run throughout the set) is infectious.
It was clear to see from the audience that Rosie has dedicated followers but invites newcomers into her world with ease. The way in which Wilby so openly shares her own experiences with strangers endears her to an audience – something, which in a show discussing monogamy, polygamy and everything in between, one would imagine is not always easy.
The show itself shows that Rosie Wilby has put a lot of effort into researching her topic. Accompanied with a flip chart and box of cereal, Wilby encourages audience participation and deals brilliantly with audience response.
Rosie provides an hour of fun that competes with any stand up out there. A must see!”
