A heartfelt comedy with songs about a woman who’s decided to live as a sheep
What was your inspiration?
Loneliness, raving, awkward social interactions. Oh, and sheep.
Why Brighton Fringe
It’s way more accessible than Edinburgh and I love the sea.
What are you expecting?
Friendly people, tons of exciting new shows, lots of organic vegetables, and when it all gets too much I’m jumping in that sea!
Who do you think your show will appeal to?
Anyone who’s ever felt like an outsider. Neurodivergent people, ravers, clowns, theatre types, sensitive souls and lovers of theatre
Has it been produced before?
It was first performed as part of Volcano Theatre’s Shape of Things to Come Programme in Swansea in 2023. Since then it’s sold out at Camden People’s Theatre, Glasgow Comedy Festival, Bristol and round Yorkshire.
Do you plan to take the show on elsewhere?
Cardiff Porter’s Theatre on Fri 9th May and Buxton Fringe in July
Chances of breaking even?
Highly unlikely. I made the ridiculous decision to tour this show with no funding and I wouldn’t recommend it. I’ve spent so much money on marketing. I wouldn’t do this again without a team.
Anything to add?
People take many different routes to discover they’re neurodivergent, and for me it was writing this show. Audiences keep commenting on how neurodivergent the character is and I’m like “But they’re all my thoughts…”
