Drama
A staple for us and for many if you fancy a more traditional play. When we first started Everything Theatre it was specifically to review drama. We’ve branched out over the years, but it will always be a favourite of ours.
-
The Duchess of Malfi, New Diorama Theatre – Review
A triumphant gem of a production! A classic period piece that effortlessly bridges the original era and the modern day.
-
Sommer 14: A Dance of Death, Finborough Theatre – Review
Another top-quality production from one of the best off-West End venues.
-
The Five Stages of Waiting, Tristan Bates Theatre – Review
This short comedy-drama of a family coping in crisis is funny but not as deep as it intends.
-
Consequences, Hen and Chickens Theatre – Review
A neat, well-put-together production that deals with tough subject matters, without being overly draining. Insightful and enjoyable.
-
The Monotonous Drum, Etcetera Theatre – Review
A short provocative piece of work about feminism and equality from a new writer trying to find her way and her voice.
-
Tour of Duty, Upstairs at the Gatehouse – Review
Poignant. This play touches deeply and exposes just how strong the love between a father and daughter can be, no matter the circumstances
-
Lili, Etcetera Theatre – Review
This is a brave project which, despite falling a bit short, is worth a watch if you’re interested in the subject.
-
Dessa Rose, Trafalgar Studios – Review
A strong central cast ensures a sound delivery for this well-composed historic musical.
-
Fairytales and Fire, The Old Red Lion Theatre – Review
While the end of the play was surprising, this was too little too late for me and I left the theatre without much attachment to this production.
-
Romeo & Juliet, Lauderdale House – Review
This is excellent fringe Shakespeare that proves you don’t need high production values if you have a talented team.
