Drama
A staple for us and for many if you fancy a more traditional play. When we first started Everything Theatre it was specifically to review drama. We’ve branched out over the years, but it will always be a favourite of ours.
-
As Is, Trafalgar Studios – Review
A fantastic, poignant portrayal of the AIDS crisis and those it affected. It is brilliantly written, incredibly deep and takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions.
-
The Dreamers, St James Theatre – Review
A disappointing addition to a year of commemorative Great War plays. Might suit families with small children, but otherwise unsatisfying.
-
King Henry V, Union Theatre – Review
An uncompromising interpretation of Henry V. Well performed, but a little dry.
-
Child Z, Southwark Playhouse – Review
A depressing though well written study of how the vulnerable can be exploited.
-
The Tempest, The Hope Theatre – Review
Bursting with energy and a laugh a minute, this is modern Shakespeare at its best.
-
451, Greenwich+Docklands International Festival – Review
An absolute must-see show. Captivating story telling. A poignant theme for our time.
-
Shrew, Camden People’s Theatre – Review
Brave confrontation of the difficulty that lies within Shakespeare's original script. An insightful, well-written and well-performed piece.
-
The Vagina Monologues, The Bread & Roses Theatre – Review
Equal parts hilarious, eye-opening and moving, this candid re-imagination of a classic play is a wonderful way to while away a summer evening.
