Awkward Productions’ Linus Karp on new show Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story

Linus Karp is back for his third appearance on our podcast, which either suggests he is has a glutton for punishment, or our podcasts are lots of fun to make.

This time out he is here to chat about his new show Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story, which you won’t be surprised to know is his loving tribute to Princess Diana, but done with Awkward Productions’ usual touch of madness and queerness.

We discuss the show and its origins, plus whether he is expecting a backlash from people who can take offence at anything given half the chance! We also talk about touring a show and how his Edinburgh run went for How To Live A Jellicle Life.

You can catch up on our previous chats with Linus along with reviews of former shows here.

Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story opens at The Pleasance in London from 8 to 19 November, before embarking on a national tour. All currently confirmed dates can be found here.

Diana: The Untold and Untrue Story

Do you know the story of Diana? Probably. But do you know our story of Diana? We very much doubt it.

Join Diana in heaven as she shares the untold and untrue tale of her extraordinary life.

Combining drag, multimedia, audience interaction, puppetry and a lot of queer joy – this unique celebration of the peoples princess is as hilarious as it is tasteless.

A brand new show from harbingers of theatrical chaos Awkward Productions, written and performed by Linus Karp and supported by The Pleasance London, Lighthouse Poole and Arts at the Old Fire Station, Oxford.

The show follows previous productions how to live a jellicle life: life lessons from the 2019 hit movie musical ‘cats’ and Awkward Conversations With Animals I’ve F*cked.

The show plays London’s The Pleasance 8 – 19 November. Bookings here.

It then goes on a national tour through to April 2023. All dates can be found here.
