Off West End
Much like fringe theatre, trying to define what Off-WestEnd venue really means is a debate that would take us long into the night. So for our own sanity, we define it as those venues that are slightly bigger than the fringe venues (so roughly 100+ seats), but not the big West End or similar venues that form part of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT). Like fringe venues, Off-WestEnd are eligible for consideration for awards via the Fringe Theatre Awards.

Plastic Figurines, New Diorama Theatre – Review
A funny but sad story about what real love between a family looks and feels like, delivered by a super cast. Ella Carmen Greenhill is surely a playwright to keep an eye on.

Lampedusa, Soho Theatre – Review
Eye-opening and ear-poppingly shocking. With subtlety and wit in equal measure, we’re told a story that actually matters.

Voices, Lion and Unicorn Theatre – Review
Prepared to be baffled by this mix of WWI poetry, interspersed with a veteran’s real life story. Suitable for those already familiar with the poems or those up for a neighbourhood play between drinks.

King Lear – The Rose Playhouse, Review
It’s the right play, with the right cast, in the right venue. A great addition to the performance history of King Lear.
