Drama
A staple for us and for many if you fancy a more traditional play. When we first started Everything Theatre it was specifically to review drama. We’ve branched out over the years, but it will always be a favourite of ours.
-
Brenda, The Yard Theatre – Review
Mental health and poverty are the cause of this couple’s breakdown. A conceptually interesting play, but slightly underdeveloped and not as powerful as it could be.
-
Empty Vessels, Rosemary Branch Theatre – Review
A witty and clever new play that explores the relationship between reality and fantasy with a great cast.
-
Jane Eyre, National Theatre – review
An almost perfect performance loses a star only for its needless stretching of the story.
-
Octagon, The Arcola Theatre – Review
Worth seeing if you’re interested in poetry and the artistic temperament
-
The Sweethearts, Finborough Theatre – Review
Tragedy and comedy come together beautifully in this performance that leaves you feeling uncomfortable but enlightened.
-
The Adding, The Cockpit – Review
An interesting play with a strong cast, great puppetry and thought-provoking themes.
-
Reckless, The Rose Playhouse – Review
An evocative tale of island life that’s best suited to new writing fans and theatre history buffs.
-
Hangmen, Royal Court Theatre – Review
A gripping and hard hitting drama that tickles the funny bone: delightfully macabre.
-
Phoenix Rising, Tristan Bates Theatre – review
A must for people with an interest in DH Lawrence. And even if that’s a subject you couldn’t care less about, this is an excellently scripted exploration of one man’s life, with careful consideration of tiny, but important, moments.

The Sting, Wilton’s Music Hall – review
This show has the potential to be stunning: it’s set in a unique venue and features some brilliant ideas. However, it lacks a spark and it left audience members fidgeting.
