The Cast and Crew of Frank’s Closet chat about the evolution of the show

Frank’s Closet has been on a journey and is about to ‘dip it’s glittery toe in the pool’ of the West End at the Arts Theatre for two special performances. It premiered in 2009 at the Hoxton Hall, in celebration of this historic venue. It lay dormant until it was unearthed during the Lockdown.

Fast forward to March 2024 and Frank’s Closet opened at the Union Theatre where it had great success and an extended run. The next stop on the journey was in September at Wilton’s Music Hall, this ‘Unmissable!’ run opened the door to the West End, on the 3rd and 17th November at the Arts Theatre.

We are in discussion with Luke Farrugia (The Diva), Daniel Walford (Gaiety Girl – Alice Plate) and David Tate, aka Dolly (Head of Wardrobe and original Gaiety Girl) about their experiences of this unique musical ahead of rehearsals for Frank’s next chapter.

Frank’s Closet

Following its sold out extended run at the Union Theatre, and smash hit performances at Wilton’s Music Hall, Frank’s Closet is making its unmissable West End debut. Starring Andy Moss as Frank, this multiple ★★★★★ reviewed show is a warm hearted love letter to camp, musical theatre and iconic divas from history; from Judy Garland to Julie Andrews, Ethel Merman to Agnetha from ABBA.

Meet Frank. A soon-to-be groom with a closet full of frocks. As he prepares to marry his beloved partner Alan, it’s time to make space in the wardrobe and donate his iconic diva dresses to the V&A. If only he could part with them…

As Frank retreats into a fantasy world through the magical portal of his closet door, each Diva visits him to deliver a musical number (what else?) and a gem of good – or at least well intentioned – advice. From Judy Garland to Julie Andrews, Ethel Merman to Agnetha from ABBA. But will frocks or fiancé ultimately triumph?

Frank’s Closet is at the Arts Theatre on Sundays 3rd & 17th November. Book your tickets here.
