We thought we’d try something different for this week’s podcast. Instead of the usual interview, we invited a group of artists who had put on shows at this year’s Camden Fringe to discuss their experience – good or bad. We talk about what they learned and gained from the festival, what problems they encountered, and why ultimately it was a worthwhile experience.
The participants and their shows were:
Ruby Blue Tansey-Thomas
Ruby is part of Themis Theatre, whose show Schrödinger’s Lesbians (Sappho: A Year in the Life) played at Lion and Unicorn Theatre.
Zofia Zerphy
Zofia is from Berserk Theatre. Their show How To Urn A Living played at Hen and Chickens Theatre. You can read our review for the show here.
Hassan Govia
Hassan’s company Unshaded Arts put on Because at The Cockpit.
Benedict Esdale
Benedict had two shows on. Knapsack, which he wrote and performed played at two venus, Etcetera Theatre and Hen and Chickens Theatre, whilst he wrote and directed Snakes and Ladders Is A Losing Game which played at Old Red Lion Theatre. You can read our review of the second show here.
Jon Hague
John’s company Docklands Productions put on At War With Myself at Etcetera Theatre.
