Velenzia Spearpoint discusses Lambeth Fringe

Having only just recovered from Camden Fringe, we were thinking we’d have a couple of quiet weeks. But then we realised Lambeth Fringe was around the corner and well, how could we not try to throw our support behind it!

So instead of heading home from Camden, we instead headed South of the river to catch up with one of the festival organisers, Velenzia Spearpoint.

Now in its ninth year, 2024 sees the festival rebranded, having previously been known as Clapham Fringe, and massively expanded to a whole new set of venues, some of which are very much not traditional theatre spaces. It’s also partnered to bring ChooSE27 Comedy Festival under its umbrella, bringing a host of comedy shows to West Norwood and Tulse Hill.

We discuss why the festival has been rebranded, why she cannot walk through Lambeth without looking at possible new venues, and try to push Valenzia to pick her favourite shows!

Lambeth Fringe opens 19 September to 20 October. Further information can be found on their website here.
