Off West End
Much like fringe theatre, trying to define what Off-WestEnd venue really means is a debate that would take us long into the night. So for our own sanity, we define it as those venues that are slightly bigger than the fringe venues (so roughly 100+ seats), but not the big West End or similar venues that form part of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT). Like fringe venues, Off-WestEnd are eligible for consideration for awards via the Fringe Theatre Awards.

Lost Boy, Finborough Theatre – Review
A truly brilliant world premiere of this powerful musical, but don’t be surprised if you find yourselves having a few déjà vu moments.

Win Or Die: A woman’s odyssey through theatre, Tristan Bates Theatre – Review
The idea of this show is great - showing women in theatre throughout history. However in practice it didn’t quite come across and I left wondering what the intended message was.

The Seagull, White Bear Theatre – Review
The acting approach used in this production makes for high quality and honest performances, and also works to further express the chief concerns of the play.

The Bald Prima Donna, Old Red Lion Theatre – Review
Utterly disconcerting theatre; you will leave in shock. The good thing is that the play so abstract that all interpretations are valid!
-
Pride & Prejudice: The Panto, Cockpit Theatre – Review
A brilliantly funny adaptation of a classic Austen novel, which faithfully honours the original story while adding some hilarious contemporary references.
-
American Psycho, Almeida Theatre – Review
A thrilling, exciting and highly original musical which has far more depth than I remember from the film.

The Good Neighbour, Battersea Arts Centre – Review
A wonderfully original Christmas adventure. Very well managed from the moment you step into the building. Leave your stresses at the door and just enjoy!
