We’re delighted to say we are busier than ever…
….but we only publish reviews that have had the once over from one of our trusty editors. And with more reviews and interviews than ever, we are really in need of more help! So if you’re a theatre nut who wants to read about more shows, a budding journalist looking for more exposure and experience, or just a pedant in search of an outlet, then joining the Everything Theatre editing team may be just the thing for you!
What’s in it for me?
All members of the ET editing team are volunteers and all are invited to also review alongside editing. So you’ll get the chance to see as many shows as you can fit in, maybe discovering new venues, companies and genres as you take advantage of the many invites we receive. You’ll also get the chance to hone your editing skills and get your work published on a site that is heading towards 200,000 visitors in 2024.
If you’re an aspiring journalist, or just somebody who keeps looking at their bank balance and wondering how they are going to continue to feed the theatre habit then we’re the place for you!
What if I love writing, but I’ve never edited before?
NO PROBLEM! Our aim is to publish honest and unpretentious writing that everybody can understand. We’re not a site purely for theatre-buffs, we’re a site for everybody, so we’re looking for people with a good eye for grammar, spelling and punctuation, and a knack for ‘tidying up’.
What about the time commitment?
Everyone at ET are volunteers. We run ET in our spare time as a hobby, so if you’re worrying it might be too much of a time commitment then don’t. We work all activities around people’s real-life commitments; no need to sign off a month of holiday in advance here! As a guide, editing a review takes an average of around 30 minutes, so even if you could only give up an hour or two each week, you could still make a major contribution in helping us get those reviews published.
Alright, how do I apply?
Just fill out the form below to get in touch with us. We’ll send you some editing guidelines and a trial review to edit. If you dot all the right I’s and cross all the right T’s then we’ll get you trained up and put you on the team!
