Off West End
Much like fringe theatre, trying to define what Off-WestEnd venue really means is a debate that would take us long into the night. So for our own sanity, we define it as those venues that are slightly bigger than the fringe venues (so roughly 100+ seats), but not the big West End or similar venues that form part of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT). Like fringe venues, Off-WestEnd are eligible for consideration for awards via the Fringe Theatre Awards.

Comedians, Chelsea Theatre – Review
Brutal, almost dehumanising production that raises more questions about comedy than it is able to answer.

The World Mouse Plague, Battersea Arts Centre – Review
Strange, surreal and very entertaining theatre—even if I’m not sure I understood everything I saw!

Trip the Light Fantastic Toe, The Place – Review
An interesting evening that showcases a variety of modern dance styles and also gives the spectators the chance to show off their own moves.

MilkMilkLemonade, Ovalhouse Theatre – Review
An absurd, comic and touching play about gender and sexuality set in a dusty Midwestern town with plenty of hay and chickens to match.

Rhetorical, Stratford Circus – Review
An intelligent examination of speechmaking and the power of oratory.
