Off West End
Much like fringe theatre, trying to define what Off-WestEnd venue really means is a debate that would take us long into the night. So for our own sanity, we define it as those venues that are slightly bigger than the fringe venues (so roughly 100+ seats), but not the big West End or similar venues that form part of the Society of London Theatre (SOLT). Like fringe venues, Off-WestEnd are eligible for consideration for awards via the Fringe Theatre Awards.

When We Dead Awaken, The Space – Review
A fantastic venue with great set and audio design. The show, whilst challenging and sometimes hard to follow, is an arresting and interesting performance.

The Picture of Dorian Gray, White Bear Theatre – Review
A show of uneven quality that doesn’t do justice to its great source text.
-
Matchbox Theatre, Hampstead Theatre – Review
A series of short plays, performed with gusto and cheek and genuinely side-splittingly funny at times.

The Ted Bundy Project, Shoreditch Town Hall – Review
A really interesting theatrical experience that shines a light on people’s morbid fascination with serial killers.

The Lonely Soldier Monologues, The Cockpit – Review
This is verbatim theatre at its most profound. Brave voices given power through the stage where the real world failed them. A chance to listen to people that need to be heard.

The Angry Brigade, The Bush Theatre – Review
An exciting, bold show which will provide much food for thought.
