Andrea Mann, London – ★★★★★
“Utterly terrifying. (In a good way. It was supposed to be.) Brilliant performances in a play which will leave you with goosebumps. Loved it.”
Sue Blundell, London – ★★★★
“I thought this was a tremendous production, with excellent acting and a great use of the chorus (perhaps the transitions between scenes could be a little smoother, though I imagine this is especially hard when it’s so hot. This is probably the only reason I didn’t give it 5 stars). Unlike some other reviewers I thought the play itself was good, with complex, funny and meaningful stories; and in the end it is a moral tale (i.e. the bad guy is punished). And it was scary too.”
Tara Marshall, Darlaston – ★★★★★
“Thoroughly enjoyed the performance, Jumped out of my seat twice! Favourite scenes the entrancing ‘Hearts & Flowers’ and the hilarious ‘An Unfortunate Storm related mishap.’ Great performances from Pauline Armour, Josh Lawson was brilliant in the Elevator scene and I thought Samantha Pressdee did great Character work with both roles she played. All the Actors did a great job considering the heat. I would definitely like to see this company again. Loved the costumes too!”

“I thoroughly enjoyed this play… the segments that evolved the story were spellbinding. The quick costume changes were seamless. The story overall was dark, funny in parts, thought provoking and left the audience wanting more….if you thinking The Shinning intertwined with The Twilight zone, this play encompasses both. The cast were amazing, captivating and believable, without making the ‘New England’ accent cheesy, as is in some plays. This is a must see play… I highly recommend it. The evening I was fortunate to see the play, it was incredibly warm weather, the audience was sweltering, I can only imagine how hot the cast must have been, but their performances did not falter. This was spot on from the writer, director, costume, cast and performance… all excellent.”
Yasser Kayani, London – ★★★★★
“I really enjoyed the play. It was fantastically arresting and irreverently funny with macabre humour. The portrayal of the female preternatural gatekeeper of the incorporeal hole to hell was mesmerizing yet ever so feminine with the demonic Greek-type chorus giving her a tremendous power. The way she strikes that Faustian pact with the architect was entrancing. Powerful performances by all the cast left me wanting more.”
Carmel O’ Reilly, London – ★★★★★
“I was taken on a hauntingly eerie journey which had a touch of surrealism mixed with moments of humour and sadness through a series of short stories reminding us that sometimes bad things happen for a reason.”
Deborah Cooper, London – ★★★★★
“Fabulous play, really gripping, great story, costumes and cast. Ones to watch: Julie Binysh.”
Donna Marie Ward, London – ★★★★
“I really enjoyed this slick and eerie supernatural tale about a Faustian pact by BeLT.Every cast member works incredibly hard under their heavy costumes in the Summer heat to deliver just over an hours worth of gripping, spooky action which combines Japanese demons with present day America. Touches of “The Shining” and old 70’s anthology horror films are very obvious and as a fan of both, I thoroughly enjoyed each little segment, which culminated in a very grisly and thought provoking piece of theatre. Definitely catch this in Edinburgh if you’re going, you’ll be hooked from the start. Special mentions to Fiona Cullen, Paul Baker, Pauline Amour and Julie Binysh as I thought their performances were fantastic and really ramped up the underlying menace, but the whole cast and crew have done a remarkable job with a small space, multi layered costumes, accents, movement, touches of comedy and packing a whole lot of spine chilling stories into a short amount of time – well done!”
Stu Bowler, New York – ★★★★★“Full disclosure, I know a couple of the cast members. That being said this was a GREAT way to spend 75 minutes! The play was, MINOR spoiler alert -“disturbing” in a rather pleasant way, the acting rock solid with a few stand out performances. Its sort of an anthology that reminded me of the great 70s and 80s ‘horror’ movies. Bookmarked with a satisfying story. Not for the weak. 😉 Anyway. GO AND SEE IT!”

“Excellent production which manages to be scary and funny at the same time – not an easy feat!
It sold out in Camden, hope it does as well in Edinburgh, it deserves to.”
