Podcast: Immersing Ourselves in The West with CoLab

Charlotte and Bertie of CoLab Theatre chat to us about new immersive show, The West

This week’s guests on our Runn Radio show were Charlotte Potter and Bertie Watkins from CoLab Theatre. CoLab are experts in immersive theatre, drawing their audiences into the worlds they create.

Their 2020 show, Crooks 1926 was a huge success, so successful that it was run again in 2021, having initially been cancelled mid-run due to lockdown! You can read our 5 star review here.

But as well as Crooks 1926 we’ve reviewed them a number of times and never really have a bad word to say! You can see more of our reviews here.

The West takes us into the Wild West and a rundown township. The audience play the townsfolk, responsibility for bringing the town back to life in various different ways, as you will hear from Charlotte and Bertie.

As well as discussing the new show, we also chat about what immersive means to them, and whether people ever get a little “too” involved with their immersive shows. Plus during the interview, they receive a special delivery so we get to share their excitement as they open it up!

The West is on now (previews until 15 July) and runs until 1 October. You can find out more and book tickets here
