Joe Strictland on Punture The Screen and other Chronic Insanity Projects
This week’s guest on our Runn Radio show was Joe Strictland. Joe is founder and Artistic Director of Chronic Insanity Theatre Company. They are a Nottingham based company, who have been producing a vast amount of work for the past three years.
We only came across them earlier this year with their show 24 23 22. Having been wowed by that, we were thrilled when Joe agreed to chat to us about what else they are up to, foremost of which is their upcoming festival, Puncture The Screen.
Puncture The Screen is a data-driven digital art and performance festival. It runs over the weekend of 16 -17 July, with artwork and educational content released throghout the day and live events each evening. The whole festival will be available on demand for at least two weeks afterwards. The full programme is available here.
Besides the festival, they also have a target of putting on 12 productions in 12 months. It’s the third year they have set such a target and as Joe explains, the past two years they have successfully managed to surpass this target.
We also discuss online digital theatre, and take a moment to question Joe on the fact they are apparetnly a magician as well!
You can find out more about Chronic Insanity and future projects on their website here.
