We’re delighted to say that Everything Theatre is busier than ever…
….but we only publish reviews that have had the once over from one of our trusty editors. If we don’t have enough editors, then we can’t review all the shows we get invited to. You see how it goes! So if you’re a theatre nut who wants to read about more shows, a budding journalist looking for more exposure, or just a pedant in search of an outlet, then joining the Everything Theatre editing team may be just the thing for you!
What’s in it for me?
All members of the ET editing team are volunteers, but you’ll get the chance to see shows in a wide range of West End and off-West End theatres, discovering new venues, companies and genres. You’ll also get the chance to hone your editing skills and get your work published on a site with 6000+ unique views per month.
If you’re an aspiring journalist, or just somebody who keeps looking at their bank balance and wondering how they are going to continue to feed the theatre habit then we’re the place for you!
What if I love writing, but I’ve never edited before?
NO PROBLEM! Our aim is to publish honest and unpretentious writing that everybody can understand. We’re not a site purely for theatre-buffs, we’re a site for everybody, so we’re looking for people with a good eye for grammar, spelling and punctuation, and a knack for ‘tidying up’.
What about the time commitment?
ALL members of the ET editing team are part-time volunteers. We run ET in our spare time as a hobby, so if you’re worrying it might be too much of a time commitment then don’t. We work all activities around people’s real-life commitments; no need to sign off a month of holiday in advance here! As a guide though, most editors publish one or two reviews a week.
Alright, how do I apply?
The first thing to do is to drop us a line at email@example.com. We’ll send you some editing guidelines and a trial review to edit. If you dot all the right Is and cross all the right Ts then we’ll get you trained up and put you on the team!
